Benefits of Membership
Our Chamber provides a wide variety of benefits that help our members grow their business or organization, regardless of their industry, target audience, stage of development, annual revenue, or growth strategy.
Advocacy
We maintain relationships with local, state, and federal officials so that our members know about potential impacts on our local business economy, and so they know about the concerns and needs of our members. Our Public & Legislative Affairs Committee crafts an annual legislative agenda that is voted on by members and implemented by our Board of Directors and staff.
Members receive Business Beat in their inboxes on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Be sure to check this newsletter for the latest in business and government.
We host an annual legislative lunch with state and federal representatives that members are encouraged to attend. Throughout the year, we arrange events with local officials to give our members face time with decision makers at the county and municipal levels.
Our advocacy efforts depend on open communication with our members who help us stay up to date with the various issues that could impact our business community. Contact our President to share your insight.
We are in the process of drafting our Legislative Agenda for 2023-2024 and will upload that document once approved by our membership.

Business After Hours is a popular Chamber tradition. This is a series of high-powered networking events, which are designed specifically for Chamber members to combine business and pleasure. The host company is featured prominently. Typically, 14 Business After Hours functions are scheduled each year. Refer to our Business After Hours guidelines and/or request more information.
Business After Hours Expo: In April, the Chamber hosts a Business After Hours Expo at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City, which combines the fellowship and fun of a normal Business After Hours event with all the buzz and excitement of a business trade show. Typically, about 65 Chamber members are there as exhibitors and around 500 people attend.
Let the Chamber help you with your celebration with our Grand Opening Services. The Chamber is ready to assist you with grand openings, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings and milestone anniversary events. We’ll invite our membership at large and the general public to meet you and celebrate your success! These are also great opportunities for you to get out and meet other business owners.
Members are invited to apply for a seat on any of our volunteer committees or Board of Directors–great ways to connect with likeminded people who want to make a difference in our community. We also offer volunteer opportunities at Chamber events and Connect Carteret organizes service networking events throughout the year.
Small Business Roundtables, which are open to all Chamber members, meet regularly in four different locations across Carteret County. Each Roundtable provides business owners with an opportunity to discuss common business concerns and learn from one another.
Marketing & Publicity
Getting your business or organization name out there is key to growth! We proudly offer free and low-cost marketing opportunities to our members, plus robust sponsorship packages with a range of high-visibility promotional options and media plugs.
Businesses and organizations that know the value of visible community support as a marketing tool should consider incorporating a Chamber promo package into their marketing budget. These annual packages bundle up opportunities for event sponsorships, email and web advertising, media exposure and more. When you partner with the Chamber, you’re not only promoting your brand, you’re sending the message that your business or organization values the growth and success of our community.
Chamber publications and the website offer effective and affordable advertising outlets that are targeted to your potential customers. Members can take advantage of sponsorship packages to include color-enhanced listings in the print directory, low-cost sponsorships in our twice-weekly newsletters, and low-cost online display advertising.
