2nd Annual State of the Community Breakfast Attracts 200 Guests

The second annual State of the Community Breakfast presented by Rogers & Company CPAs, PA., November 19 was a huge success! We nearly doubled our guest count from last year and the Carteret County News-Times did an in-depth article on the event, detailing the highlights from each of our 10 speakers. That extended reach allowed that many more people to stay informed about important local issues. You can read the article online here.

Major thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible! Duke Energy, First Flight Federal Credit Union, FirstLight Home Care, Carteret County Government, Crystal Coast Civic Center, and all of our speakers:

  • Peter Grills, Board Vice Chair of Crystal Coast Tourism Development Authority
  • Jody McClenny, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction for Carteret County Public Schools
  • Dr. Tracy Mancini, President of Carteret Community College
  • Kyle Marek, President CEO of Carteret Health Care
  • Chip Killmeier, Port Operations Manager at NC Port of Morehead City
  • Bruce Sheldon, Board Chair of the Carteret County Economic Development Foundation
  • CDR “Lars” Tormey, SFO Fort Macon Supervisor of U.S. Coast Guard – SECTOR North Carolina
  • David Rose, Command Operations Department Head at Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE)
  • Col. Brendan C. Burks, Commanding Officer at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point
